Gear & Costs

The Falcon Pointe Flyers are a parent volunteer managed organization, and we strive to deliver the highest value experience for our swimmers and community while considering how families are impacted by costs.  Please see the below information for costs applicable to the season, required personal gear, and optional items for purchase.

2026 Registration Fee: 

$213.00 per swimmer

Registration Includes:

  • Participant team t-shirt (1)
  • Participant team swim cap (1)
  • Participant team spirit sign (1)
  • 8 consecutive weeks of practice, offered 4-5 days per week.
  • Instruction by expert coaches with competitive swim experience.
  • 6 regular competition swim meets.
  • 1 CHAMPS Meet at the end of the season
  • End-of-Season Banquet
  • Weekly awards and recognition
  • Participant trophy & awards

ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT

Below, we provide guidance for additional required and optional equipment for the swim season.  Please be aware that some specific brands or equipment can be surprisingly expensive, but pricey equipment is NOT REQUIRED to be a Flyer.

The following required additional equipment, not covered by the registration fee, will be needed to participate in practices and compete at Flyers swim meets:

Required - Team Swim Suit: ~$50-$75

  • Alternative: solid black competition racing suit.
  • Dolfin brand logo swim suit offered by D&J Sports (Austin).

Required - Swim Goggles: ~$25-$35

  • Socket-style, dual strap competition goggle
  • Any brand, any color, any retailer
  • No full face mask!

Required - Practice Swim Fins: ~$15-$35

  • Short fin with closed heel
  • Any brand, any color, any retailer

Required - Practice Kickboard: ~$10-$20

  • With or without handle slots
  • Dense floating foam in "tombstone" shape

Optional - Practice Swim Suits

  • If your swimmer wants a competition style training suit, they may purchase one for practice.
  • Recommended boys suits: "jammer"/bike-short style, or briefs
  • Recommended girls suits: dual over-shoulder strap with appropriate coverage and competition stability, and competition brief cut
  • Any color, any brand.

Optional - Practice Equipment

  • There are lots of additional training aides such as hand paddles, leg buoys, and forward-facing masks.  These are all great for individual training, but not regularly used at the recreation league level.

Optional - Team Spirit Merchandise

  • There is plenty of Flyers merchandise on our Team Store!  
  • There is no obligation to purchase any item, but we love seeing our colors around the neighborhood, and at Murchison ES, Kelly Lane MS, and Hendrickson HS!
